What is a canopy light?
A canopy light is a low profile ceiling fixture built to light the underside of a covered structure: a parking garage deck, a fuel forecourt, a loading bay. It isn't the decorative plate that hides a pendant's ceiling box, and it isn't a string light for an event tent. Commercial versions sit tight to the slab, throw a wide flat beam, and carry a wet location rating.
Is 10,000 lumens too bright for a parking garage?
For a low deck, usually yes. That's why this one switches. At 75W and 5000K the IES file measures 10,768 lumens, which suits a high deck or a fuel canopy. Drop to 40W and you're at 4,980 to 5,464 lumens, closer to what a low ceiling or a stair landing wants. One SKU covers the building, and your electrician sets it on site.
Will it run on a 347V circuit?
Yes. The driver takes 120V through 347V. That matters because Canadian commercial buildings run 347/600V while most imported canopy fixtures stop at 277V. The 75W IES files measure 142 to 149 lumens per watt. Surge protection is built in at 4kV/5kV, and it's wet rated from -30°C to 50°C.
Mounting and sensor options
The manual documents two mounting methods, not one. Ceiling mount uses a plate that screws to the junction box, with a hanger that holds the fixture while you wire it. Pendant mount takes 3/4 inch NPT pipe, for dropping below beams and ductwork. The PIR sensor is ordered separately: the fixture ships with a blank cap that unscrews and swaps for the sensor head. That sensor stops at -20°C, warmer than the fixture's -30°C floor, so check unheated sites.
