What is an LED canopy light?
An LED canopy light is a low-profile ceiling fixture built to light the space under a structure, like a parkade deck, a garage soffit or a covered entry. It sits flush to the slab rather than hanging, so it clears vehicles. Don't confuse it with the decorative canopy plate that hides a junction box on a pendant. This one is a luminaire.
The CP02 measures 272mm across and 78mm deep, so it fits tight slab-to-beam clearances.
Does the PIR sensor work at every power setting?
No. The optional PIR sensor only works when the fixture is set to 100% power output, which is the 60W position. Set it to 45W, 30W or 18W and the sensor won't operate. Set the wattage first, then add the sensor.
The sensor is ordered separately as HN074-01VRPH, and so is the remote. Neither ships with the fixture. Mount the sensor no higher than 39.3ft. It's rated to -20°C, which is warmer than the fixture's own -30°C floor, so check your coldest month before you spec it into an open deck.
Give it 45 seconds to warm up. The fixture flickers after that while the remote programs it. That's expected, not a fault.
Which wattage suits an indoor parkade?
Four steps off one switch, at ±10% tolerance. 60W gives 9,600Lm at 4000K, 45W gives 7,200Lm, 30W gives 4,800Lm and 18W gives 2,880Lm. Light peaks at 47° off centre rather than straight down, so it throws along a drive lane instead of pooling under each fixture. Pull the IES files before you set spacing.
What the manual says about mounting
Three options: ceiling mount, 3/4in NPT conduit, and an optional uplight module. If you go the NPT route, use plumber's tape or putty on the thread. Without it the luminaire won't be watertight and the IP65 rating stops meaning anything.
Kill the power before you touch either dip switch.
