Flexible Neon Rope

Flexible LED neon rope that runs on 120V line voltage, so a 50m roll takes one plug-in rectifier and no low-voltage driver. It's marked for cutting every 0.5m.

9W per metre, 500lm to 600lm per metre depending on colour temperature, and CRI above 80. Pick 3000K, 4000K or 5000K.

Is LED neon flex dimmable?

No. This rope isn't dimmable and the spec sheet says so plainly. Keep it off dimmers and 0-10V controls, and give it a plain switched 120V circuit. If your drawing calls for dimming, tell us at quote stage.

How long does LED neon rope last?

Votatec rates this rope at 30,000 hours, near enough eight years at ten hours a day. Built-in 2.5kV surge protection and a power factor above 0.8 matter on long exterior runs, where switching spikes are what kill LED product early.

Why 120V instead of 24V neon flex?

Most neon flex in Canada is 12V or 24V on 5m spools, so every run needs its own driver and voltage drop caps the distance. This one takes 120V straight off the circuit through an inline rectifier with a fuse. One roll, one connection, nothing to hide above the ceiling. Keep 20% headroom on the supply and don't exceed the rated length, or you'll get heat and uneven brightness.

Can you cut it and keep it waterproof?

It's marked for cutting every 0.5m, and cutting breaks the seal. The manual's sequence: trim the exposed copper so it can't short, fit the copper pins, seat the connector, then flood the joint with waterproof glue and shrink a tube over it. End caps get the same treatment. Test before sealing, and if a cut length won't light, swap ends and retry. Skip the sealing and IP65 is gone.

How far apart do the mounting clips go?

Every 400mm on a surface run, 800mm suspended. Keep bend diameter above 50mm and never fold it at a sharp angle. IP65 handles rain and washdown, not immersion, so keep it out of standing water. On new construction, ventilate first, because formaldehyde and benzene yellow the material.
