The VO-PAR16W5.5-120-5Way-S-D is a PAR16 LED bulb with a five-position CCT switch on the barrel, so one bulb covers 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K.
It draws 5.5W, delivers 500 to 555 lumens depending on the setting, holds CRI above 80, and throws a 40 degree beam from a standard E26 base.
Dimmable, rated for enclosed fixtures, ETL listed, backed by a 3 year warranty.
What does PAR16 mean on a light bulb?
PAR16 means a parabolic aluminised reflector measuring 16 eighths of an inch across, so 2 inches at the widest point. This one is 1.97" (50mm) in diameter and 3.05" (77.5mm) tall. The number describes diameter only, never length, which is why two bulbs can look nothing alike and both be PAR16.
What's the difference between PAR16 and PAR20 LED bulbs?
Diameter. PAR16 is 2 inches across, PAR20 is 2.5 inches. Both take an E26 base here, so the socket isn't your problem, the trim opening is. Drop a PAR16 into a PAR20 aperture and you'll see a gap around the lamp. Going the other way, the PAR20 won't seat at all.
Is PAR16 the same as GU10?
No. PAR16 is the bulb shape, GU10 is a twist-lock base. This bulb ships with an E26 screw base, so it won't fit a GU10 holder. Check the socket before you order. MR16 is different again, smaller and usually low voltage.
One SKU, five colour temperatures
The switch sits on the barrel below the lens. Set it before install and it holds. Output moves with the setting: 500 lumens at 2700K, rising to 555 at 4000K, then 535 at 5000K, per the manual's photometric table. Daylight isn't the brightest setting on this lamp, 4000K is. For distributors that's one line item instead of five. For contractors it's a way to match the lamps already on site.
Will it fit your fixture?
It's rated for enclosed fixtures, which many compact PAR16 lamps aren't. It runs from -20°C to +45°C, so unheated garages and covered entries are fine. 0.5kV surge protection is standard. At 3.05" tall this is a long-neck PAR16, so measure the lamp compartment on shallow trims before committing to a large order.
