What size hole do you cut for a 6 inch downlight?

Cut 6.22 inches, or 158mm. The spec table's compartment row reads "6"", but the real cut-out is 6.22" and a 6.00" hole won't take it. The trim covers out to 7.8" (198mm), so a retrofit opening up to that width still hides. Allow 4.74" (120.5mm) of plenum depth once assembled, not the 4.33" the spec panel lists.

How much light does it actually put out?

3,800 lumens at the 30W setting, certified. Photometry moves with colour temperature, and most sheets hide that behind one number. At 30W our IES files measure 3,733 lumens at 4000K against 3,383 at 2700K, a 9% warm-white penalty worth knowing before you lay out a grid. The 12W step is the efficient one, close to 145 lm/W.

Does it run on 347V?

Yes, 120V through 347V on one driver. That covers Canadian 347/600V commercial services without a second SKU, so one part number follows a project from a retail unit to a warehouse. Dimming is 0-10V across the full 0-100% range: black to hot, white to neutral, violet to dimming positive, grey to dimming negative. Tested dimmers include the Lutron MS-Z101 and DVSTV-WH, Leviton IP710-LFZ, and Legrand PH4FBL3PTC.

Where it fits, and where it doesn't

Rated -20°C to 40°C, so unheated Canadian spaces at the bottom of that band are outside it. Keep the fixture 5 feet above finished floor and 5 inches clear of curtains, blinds or similar combustible window treatments. Buildings older than 1985 often carry 60°C supply wire, so check conductor rating before you tie in. Minimum 18 AWG, 14 AWG on continuous runs, and account for inrush when you size the circuit. The housing is IP40, so talk to us before specifying it for a wet ceiling.
