The 10" Commercial Downlight is Votatec's widest recessed aperture, and it's native 120-347V. One part number covers the 120V tenant fit-out and the 347V base building.
Set the wattage on site: 26W, 30W, 35W, 40W or 45W. Five colour temperatures switch the same way, 2700K through 5000K. ENERGY STAR certified at 5,300 lumens, 90+ CRI.
Die-cast aluminum housing, 0-10V dimming, wet location listed, 5-year warranty.
Why does Canada use 347V lighting?
Canadian commercial buildings run a 600Y/347V three-phase service, so 347V is what you get from any single phase to neutral. The American equivalent is 277V. Higher voltage draws less current for the same load: thinner conductors, smaller breakers, more fixtures per circuit. This downlight takes 120V through 347V on the same leads, so you don't stock a part number per service.
How do you wire a 347V downlight?
Four leads leave the integrated junction box. Black to hot, white to neutral, violet to 0-10V dimming positive, grey to 0-10V dimming negative. The plenum-rated flexible metal whip suits return-air ceilings. Use 18 AWG minimum, or 14 AWG on continuous runs, and account for inrush current when you size the circuit. Dimming runs 0 to 100%, tested with Lutron, Leviton and Legrand 0-10V controls.
How much light does it put out?
ENERGY STAR certifies this fixture at 5,300 lumens and 117.8 lm/W at the top setting. Dial the wattage down and efficacy climbs: the photometric files measure 138 lm/W at the 30W step. The 90 degree beam is narrower than most selectable downlights, so more output reaches the floor from a 12 to 16 foot ceiling. 90+ CRI holds merchandise and signage colour accurate.
Will it fit an existing 10-inch opening?
Yes, and it covers a rough one. Cut hole is 10 inches, 254mm. The 11.26 inch trim hides roughly half an inch of ragged edge all round. Depth is 5.55 inches assembled. Check that against your plenum before ordering. Retrofitting, pull the old lamp and reflector, measure the opening, and confirm the trim covers it. Spring clips and a carabiner safety lanyard carry the weight, so there's no separate housing to buy. Keep it 5 feet clear of the floor and 5 inches from curtains or blinds.
For the wiring diagram, mounting sequence and the full safety list, open the Manual (PDF), and take the IES set if your designer needs photometry per colour temperature.
