Votatec's 2ft architectural linear fixture puts four colour temperatures and three wattages behind two dip switches, so one SKU covers what you'd otherwise stock four ways.

What is a linear LED light?
A linear LED light is a long, narrow luminaire that lays down an even wash instead of a pool. This one's a 23.62 inch aluminum profile with a PC diffuser and a 120 degree beam. You'll find them in offices, corridors, retail aisles and open-plan floors, anywhere a grid of downlights leaves scallops on the walls. An upper luminous module is available separately if you want indirect light bouncing off the ceiling as well.
How many can you link in one run?
Forty-eight. The 2ft links further than anything else in the range, where the 4ft stops at 16 and the 8ft at 8 (spec sheet, page 1). That's roughly 28.8 metres of unbroken line off one feed. Screwless end caps and a buckle joint put the run together without tools, and L, T, X, V and Y connectors let you close a rectangle, build a cross, or turn a hexagon at 120 degrees. Connectors and the recessed kit are ordered separately.
What are the common problems with linear lights?
Two, and both are wiring. A fixture that won't light usually has a loose quick connector. One that flickers usually has a dimmer that doesn't suit it. Votatec tested this fixture against the Lutron DSTV-Diva at a 10% to 100% dimming range (spec sheet, page 4), and older dimmers built for incandescent load will misbehave. Wire from the side carrying the switches, and connect the upper module to the quick connector labelled "Up Light".
What is the lifespan of a LED linear light?
This one's rated 50,000 hours, backed by a 5-year warranty. That rating assumes you keep it inside its envelope: damp locations yes, wet no, IP20, and -20°C to 40°C. Covered walkways and parking structures are fine. Open weather isn't. One occupancy sensor drives ten of these.
