The PAR16 LED bulb is a 7W E26 short-neck spot for shallow track heads and tight recessed cans, 2.02 inches end to end. Output runs 618 lumens at 3000K and 650 lumens at 5000K, up to 97 lm/W. CRI tops 80. Each colour temperature is a separate order code. Polycarbonate lens, cUL listed, rated for enclosed fixtures, 25,000 hours, three-year warranty.

What is the diameter of a PAR16 bulb?

Two inches, near enough. PAR numbers are eighths of an inch, so PAR16 measures 16/8 across. Votatec's comes in at 1.98 inches (50.3 mm) on the face. The length matters more than the diameter, and it's the spec most sheets get wrong. This lamp is 2.02 inches (51.5 mm) end to end, which makes it a short-neck PAR16. It clears shallow track heads and 3 inch cans that a long-neck bulb bottoms out in. The 5-way selectable version of the same lamp is 3.05 inches, so the two aren't interchangeable in a tight housing.

What's the difference between PAR16 and PAR20 LED bulbs?

Half an inch of diameter. PAR16 is 2 inches across, PAR20 is 2.5. Both use the same E26 screw base, so the socket won't tell you which one you need. The housing aperture will. Move up to PAR20 when the can is wide enough and you want more output. Stay with PAR16 in retail track, display cases and anywhere the trim is tight.

Is PAR16 the same as GU10 or MR16?

No, and the confusion is worth clearing up. PAR16 describes the shape. GU10 and MR16 describe the base. A PAR16 lamp can be built with an E26 screw base or a GU10 twist-lock, and this one is E26. MR16 shares the 2 inch diameter but it's a low-voltage multifaceted reflector, usually 12V on a bi-pin base behind a transformer. This runs straight off 120V with no driver.

Will it work in an enclosed fixture?

Yes, and it's worth checking before you order. Plenty of PAR16 LED lamps aren't rated for enclosed housings, because trapped heat shortens LED life. This one is rated for them, to 40C ambient. Dimming runs on the Leviton and Lutron controls named in the spec sheet, including the DVCL-153PLH and MACL-153M. IP20 means dry locations only, so keep it out of soffits and damp bathrooms. For the enclosed-fixture rating, the dimmer list and the per-colour lumen table, open the Spec sheet in the Related documents panel, and pull the IES file if your designer needs the 749 candela centre-beam figure.
