How long do LED flush mounts last?
This one's rated for 50,000 hours. Run it 12 hours a day and that's about 11 years before it reaches end of rated life. There's no lamp to change. The LED board and driver are sealed into the housing, so you plan replacement at the fixture, not at the bulb. For a facility running dozens of ceilings, that turns a recurring relamp line item into a single fit.
Do LED flush mount lights get hot?
Not the way an incandescent did, but heat is still what ages an LED fixture. This one uses an iron housing rather than moulded plastic, so heat moves off the board and out of the diffuser cavity instead of sitting against it. Keep it clear of blown-in insulation and don't box it in above the ceiling. That's what protects the 50,000 hours.
Set the colour temperature before you mount it
This catches people out. The CCT slide switch sits on the fixture body, and once the plate is twist-locked onto the junction box you can't reach it. Pick the setting first.
One more thing worth knowing on site: the switch is legended SW, BW and DL, not in Kelvin. SW is 3000K, BW is 4000K, DL is 5000K.
What it works with
120V, 60Hz, indoor use. Dimming runs 10% to 100% on both leading edge and trailing edge TRIAC, so most standard wall dimmers will drive it. Mounting is a twist-lock: loosen the three ring screws, wire black to black and white to white with ground, seat the plate over the screw lock, rotate clockwise and tighten. One person can hang it. The carton includes 3 wirenuts and 2 electrical box screws at 1-1/2".
