Product Overview

The 4in LED disk light (VO-DSK4W9-120-5WAY) is a slim 9W surface fixture with five switchable colour temperatures and built-in 2.5kV surge protection. You get 700 to 750 lumens, CRI above 90, a 120° beam, and 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K or 5000K from one switch. PC housing and lens, cETL listed for wet locations, IP20, rated 50,000 hours to L70, and backed by a 5-year warranty. Mounts to a standard outlet box.

What is an LED disk light?

It's a slim round fixture that mounts flat against the ceiling instead of dropping into a recessed housing. This one measures 6.1in across and just 1in deep, so it covers an existing 4in can or sits straight on an outlet box. Contractors reach for disk lights in hallways, closets, entries, stairwells and low-ceiling suites where a downlight won't fit.

What size opening does a 4in disk light need?

None, if you're mounting to an outlet box. The "4in" refers to the recessed can it covers, not a hole you cut. The fixture body is 6.1in (155mm) in diameter by 1in (26mm) deep, so plan for a flat, clear circle a little over 6in. The spec sheet lists the minimum compartment size as 6.0in by 1.0in.

How do you install an LED disk light?

It mounts to a standard outlet box, which isn't supplied. Land line, neutral and ground, hang the housing on its keyholes, then drive the mounting screws. Set your colour temperature before you close it up, because the CCT switch sits on the LED module behind the lens. The lens itself is twist-lock: line the tabs up with the notches on the housing, twist, and confirm it's fully seated. Horizontal and vertical mounting are both approved, so ceilings and walls both work.

Why CRI above 90 and surge protection matter

CRI above 90 means colours read true, which shows up fast in retail displays, healthcare corridors and any space where a tenant or an inspector will spot a green cast. The 2.5kV surge protection is the part most disc lights this size leave out, and it's what keeps the driver alive on branch circuits shared with motors, lifts or compressors. Rated 50,000 hours to L70, and it cold-starts at -20°C for unheated garages and vestibules.
