The 16" Slim Flush Mount is a large-format ceiling fixture that sits under an inch off the drywall. One switch on the housing sets 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K or 5000K, so a single SKU covers warm residential and neutral commercial jobs.
It draws 30W at 120V across a 110 degree beam, renders at CRI 80, and comes in white or black.
Built-in driver, Triac dimming, cETLus listed by Intertek, 5 year warranty.
How big should a flush mount ceiling light be?
Add the room's length and width in feet, and treat that total as the fixture diameter in inches. An 8ft x 8ft bedroom or a 7ft x 9ft landing both come to 16, which is where this fixture sits. It measures 15.6" across the trim, so it reads as a 16" fixture without crowding a standard 4" ceiling box.
Corridors work differently. There, spacing between fixtures matters more than the diameter of any one of them, and a 110 degree beam at 8ft gives you a wide, soft pool rather than a hotspot.
How to replace a flush mounted ceiling light?
Kill the breaker first, then confirm it's dead at the box. Screw the mounting bracket to the existing junction box. Connect the fixture leads to the supply. Push the body up against the ceiling and rotate it until the plate locks. Restore power and check the CCT switch before you leave.
The twist-lock step is what makes this a one-person install on a ladder. Nothing needs holding and driving at the same time.
Dimming and finish
Triac dimming means it runs on the forward-phase wall dimmers already in most Canadian residential panels, so a retrofit doesn't need a new control. Pair it with a Votatec LED dimmer if you're specifying the whole run.
Both finishes carry the same optics. White disappears into a painted ceiling. Black holds an edge against one, which is why it's the finish that moves in open-plan and hospitality work.
What ships, and what doesn't
The terminal block and suspending accessories aren't in the carton, so add them to your bill of materials. The fixture is rated for indoor use, and it'll run from -20 to +40 degrees, which covers an unheated garage or vestibule. The driver and light source are sealed, so plan on fixture replacement rather than field service. Don't pack insulation against the housing.
