This 1" mini pot light is IC rated, so ceiling insulation can sit against the housing without a standoff. The round trim drops into a 2-1/8" cut hole.
Seven watts gives you 458 to 519 lumens, depending on which of the five colour temperatures you set, and CRI is certified at 96.
Die-cast aluminum trim and heat sink, cETLus listed, ENERGY STAR certified, backed five years.
What does IC rated mean on a pot light?
It means ceiling insulation can touch the fixture housing. The ENERGY STAR register lists this downlight as Type IC, so batts, blown cellulose or spray foam can sit against it with no clearance box.
One caution. Type IC and Type IC Airtight aren't the same certification, and this unit holds Type IC only. If your assembly needs a tested air barrier, specify an ICAT fixture and ignore the airtight icon on the spec sheet.
Can you put this pot light in a shower?
Inside a shower, yes. Over an exterior soffit, no.
The fixture is wet location listed by Intertek and sealed to IP54, which covers a shower stall or a spot above a tub. The manual is blunter than the spec sheet: it says indoor installation only, and the ENERGY STAR record classes the fixture Indoor. Read "wet" as interior wet, not exterior. Ask before specifying it under a canopy.
Five colour temperatures, set once at rough-in
The CCT switch sits inside the driver housing, not on the trim, so the setting is made before the ceiling closes and nobody changes it later. Output moves with it: 458 lumens at 2700K, 514 at 3500K, 519 at 4000K, from the tested IES files. Stock one part number instead of five.
Will it fit the ceiling you have?
Cut a 2-1/8" (54mm) hole. The trim is 2-3/8" across and 3-5/16" deep. The driver is a separate hardwire box with knockouts, 7-1/16" long on a 13-3/8" lead. Spring clips pull the trim flush and a quick connector joins fixture to box, so remodel work doesn't need the box fastened to structure. Cable connectors are sold separately, and the manual calls for NMD90 or BX to the box.
For the wiring sequence, the hole cut table and the tested dimmer list, open the Manual (PDF), and pull the IES zip if your designer needs per-CCT photometrics.
