Product Overview

The 24" Slim Flush Mount is the largest round surface fixture in the Votatec range, and at 0.9" deep it sits almost flat to the ceiling. Five colour temperatures switch on the fixture itself: 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K. Measured output runs 2,980 to 3,340 lumens depending on the setting, drawing 45 to 47W, CRI above 80, with a wide 110 degree spread. Built-in driver, white or black rim, cETLus listed, five-year warranty.

What size ceiling light for a 12x12 room?

A 24 inch fixture. Add the room's two dimensions in feet and read the sum as a diameter in inches, so 12 plus 12 gives you 24. That rule puts this fixture at the very top of the flush mount category, which Lowe's own buying guide describes as 12 to 24 inches wide. Rooms around 11 by 13 or 10 by 14 land in the same place.

Can a light fixture be too big for a room?

On a flush mount, depth decides that, not width. This one projects 0.9" below the ceiling line, so it can't crowd a room the way a semi-flush or a drum shade does, and there's no clearance issue even under an 8 foot ceiling. The 600mm diameter reads as a ceiling plane rather than a fixture, which is why it suits open-plan spaces where a smaller unit would look like an afterthought.

Does the colour temperature change the light output?

Yes, and by more than most spec sheets admit. The IES files for this fixture measure 2,981 lumens at 2700K and 3,339 at 3500K, a 358 lumen swing at the same nameplate wattage. Warm settings cost light. Pick the colour temperature first, then work out how many fixtures the space needs.

What it fits, and what it won't

120V and 60Hz only. Dimming is Triac forward-phase, so pair it with a compatible wall dimmer and don't specify it on a 0-10V circuit. The manual rates it from -20C to +40C and warns against covering the housing with heat-insulating material, which means it isn't an insulation-contact fixture. The LED and driver are sealed and not field-serviceable. Mounting is four steps onto a standard octagon box: bracket, wire nuts, push and rotate the body to lock, switch on. The terminal block and any suspension hardware aren't in the carton.
