This 3ft T8 LED tube installs two ways. Leave the existing electronic ballast in place, or bypass it and wire straight to line voltage. One part number covers both retrofits. 12W delivers 1,620 lumens. Five colour temperatures switch on the lamp itself, 3000K through 6500K, and a single input range covers 120V to 347V. CRI runs above 83. Glass body with a PET safety coating, cULus listed, NSF rated, five-year warranty.

Will a T8 ballast work with LED bulbs?

With this tube, yes. It's a Type A+B lamp, so it runs on a compatible electronic ballast with no rewiring, or on direct line voltage once the ballast is bypassed. The spec sheet tabulates 163 ballast models across two lists, 143 at 120-277V and 20 at 347V. Check yours first. If it isn't on either list, bypass the fixture rather than risk the lamp.

How do you wire a ballast bypass LED?

Two ways, and the choice changes the hardware. Double-ended wiring puts line on one end and neutral on the other, and the existing sockets can stay, whatever type, if they're in good condition. Single-ended is stricter. It needs un-shunted lamp holders, and power must enter the end without the CCT switch. Feed the switch end and the lamp won't light.

Are T8 bulbs being discontinued?

In Canada, manufacture and import of the common mercury fluorescent lamps stopped on 2025-12-31 under the Products Containing Mercury Regulations. Replacement lamps can still be made or imported to the end of 2027, and retailers can sell existing stock to the end of 2029. Retrofit stock is worth planning around now.

What dimming and locations does it handle?

The manual allows 120V reverse-phase (ELV) dimmers only, and names the models tested. It rates the lamp for damp locations too, though not where water reaches it directly. Operating range is -20°C to 45°C.

Will it fit the fixture?

The retrofit is qualified for lamp compartments of at least 920 x 568 x 65 mm, holding up to four lamps. The tube is 35.73 in long, 1 in across, on a G13 base, so it seats in a standard 3ft T8 socket pair. Nameplate draw is 12W against the 25W fluorescent lamp the sheet lists as its target. For the ballast lists, the two wiring cases and the tested dimmer models, open the Manual (PDF) and Spec sheet in the Related documents panel, and take the IES file if your designer needs photometrics.
