What size hole do I need for a 4-inch recessed light?

104mm, or 4.1 inches. The trim measures 124.5mm (4.9 in) across, so it covers a cut that's slightly off. Housing depth is just 23mm (0.9 in), which is why it drops into a joist bay a can light won't fit. The junction box is separate at 84 x 84 x 30mm and feeds through the same opening, so you don't need a second access hole.

What's the recommended spacing for 4 inch pot lights?

Halve the ceiling height. On a standard 8 ft ceiling that's roughly 4 ft between centres for even coverage with no scalloping. Drop to 3 ft over counters and work surfaces where you want the light flat and shadow-free. This fixture throws a wide diffuse pattern rather than a tight cone, so the pools overlap sooner than they would from a narrow-beam downlight, and you can hold the wider end of that range in corridors.

Will it run on a 347V panel?

Yes, and that's the reason this SKU exists. One driver covers 100V through 347V, certified. On mixed projects, a warehouse on 347V and its front office on 120V take the same fixture, so you order one line item, stock one spare, and your electrician never pulls the wrong box off the van. Dimming is 0-10V, wired through the yellow 0V and red 10V leads in the junction box, down to 10%.

Where it fits, and where it doesn't

It's Type IC, so it sits in direct contact with insulation. It's rated Indoor and Damp, which covers a bathroom ceiling or a covered porch, but not a wet location. For exposed soffits, shower ceilings or anywhere hit by direct water, take the 4" fire-rated version instead, which is certified wet.
