Will a T8 ballast work with LED bulbs?
Only if the tube is built for it, and only with a ballast that's been tested. This one is Type A, so it runs on an existing electronic ballast with no rewiring. The spec sheet lists 152 tested ballasts at 120-277V and 10 more at 347V. Check yours against that list before you order. If it isn't there, wire the tube as Type B instead, which the same tube supports.
What's the difference between a Type A and a Type B LED tube?
Type A keeps the ballast and plugs into the existing sockets. Type B removes the ballast and runs line voltage straight to the lamp holders. Type A is faster; Type B is more efficient and takes the ballast out as a failure point. A+B does both, which is why it suits a phased retrofit: convert now on the ballast, come back and bypass when the ballast dies.
Five colour temperatures and 347V on one part number
The CCT selector sits on the base, so one tube covers 3000K through 6500K. Warehouses take 5000K, offices take 4000K, and you stock a single SKU. Input runs AC120-347V, which matters in Canadian commercial and institutional buildings where 347V panels are standard. It's also single or double ended, so any two pins carry power.
Will it fit your fixture?
The installation guide gives a minimum lamp compartment of 1218 x 573 x 65 mm, taking up to four lamps. Single-ended wiring needs un-shunted lamp holders, and power has to enter the end without the CCT switch. Double-ended works with the sockets already in place. Rated for dry locations, -20°C to 45°C. It dims on a 0-10V system only, never on an ordinary wall dimmer, and never change the CCT switch while it's energised.
