Votatec's A19 LED bulb is an 800-lumen-class E26 lamp built for enclosed fixtures, where most LED bulbs void their own warranty. It's fully dimmable on standard Leviton and Lutron controls.
10W. Four fixed colour temperatures: 3000K, 4000K, 5000K and 6000K. CRI above 80, 120V, rated 25,000 hours. The linked IES file measures 883 lumens at 3000K.
Polycarbonate lens, milky finish, 0.5kV surge protection standard, cUL certified, 3-year warranty.
What is 800 lumens LED equivalent to?
A 60W incandescent bulb. That's the conversion the whole industry works to, and it's why this 10W lamp replaces a 60W bulb one-for-one with no drop in brightness. Lumens measure light output, watts measure power drawn, and the two stopped tracking each other the day LED arrived. If a fixture is labelled "maximum 60W", that limit is about heat, not light. A 10W LED sits far under it, so you can fit an 800-lumen lamp in a 25W-rated fixture safely.
Can you use this bulb in an enclosed fixture?
Yes, and it's rated for it on the spec sheet. Most A19 LED bulbs aren't. Trapped heat inside a sealed globe, jelly-jar or ceiling dome cooks the driver, which is why so many bulbs carry a printed exclusion for enclosed fixtures and quietly drop the warranty if you use one. This lamp is built to run in that heat, with 0.5kV surge protection and a 25,000-hour life to back it.
Where the light actually goes
Down, mostly. Photometry on the linked IES file puts 78% of output below horizontal and 22% above. For a ceiling fixture lighting a floor or worktop, that's the useful direction, and it's the reason this lamp reads brighter than its lumen figure suggests in a downlight. If you're lighting a fabric shade or an open pendant that needs even wash in every direction, look at the 17W A19 instead, which spreads a third of its output upward.
Dimming and fixture fit
Tested on Leviton 6681, 6674 and 6683, and Lutron DVCL-153PLH, S600-P, DV600-P15 and MACL-153M. Body is 4.09 in tall by 2.36 in across, so it clears standard A19 sockets and most trims. This is also the only A19 in the range offered in 6000K.
