A19 White Filament LED

The A19 White Filament LED runs a white-coated filament inside clear glass. You get the exposed-filament look without the amber cast, which suits residential and light commercial jobs where the lamp itself is on show.

7W for 800 lumens, in 3000K, 4000K or 5000K. CRI above 80. Full 360 degree distribution from a standard E26 base at 120V.

Glass body, dimmable, cUL listed, rated for enclosed fixtures, warranted three years.

Are E26 and A19 bulbs the same?

No, and the difference trips up a lot of orders. A19 is the shape, E26 is the base. This lamp is both: a pear-shaped glass envelope 2.36 inches across and 4.13 inches tall, threaded onto a 26mm medium screw base. If the fixture took a standard household incandescent, it takes this bulb.

Can you use it in an enclosed fixture?

Yes. The A19 Filament series is rated for enclosed fixtures on the spec sheet, and that's worth checking before you buy any filament LED. Most aren't rated for it. Trapped heat cooks the driver and the lamp dies early. Jelly jars, closed globes and flush mounts are all fine here. Keep it indoors and dry, though, because IP20 rules out damp and wet locations.

Which dimmers has it been tested with?

Leviton 6681, 6674 and 6683. Lutron DVCL-153PLH, S600-P, DV600-P15 and MACL-153M. Staying on that list avoids the flicker, pop-on and low-end drop-out you get when a 7W lamp meets a dimmer built for a 60W incandescent load.

How efficient is it?

The spec sheet's tested lumen table gives 832 lumens at 3000K, 842 at 4000K and 800 at 5000K. That works out to 114 to 120 lumens per watt, where a filament lamp more typically lands between 80 and 100. Natural Resources Canada treats 800 lumens as the brightness of a 60W incandescent and puts a 9W LED at that mark. This one gets there on 7W. Rated life is 15,000 hours.

White filament or clear filament?

Same 7W, same output, same E26 base, same three colour temperatures. The difference is purely how the lamp reads when it's lit. White filament looks clean and current. The clear filament version shows the warm amber Edison look instead.
