A backlit 2x2 panel: the LEDs sit on a flat plate behind a PMMA diffuser, with no light guide plate to yellow as the fixture ages.
Two slide switches set five wattage steps and five colour temperatures. 20W to 40W, 2,520 to 4,960 lumens at 4000K, 3000K through 6000K. One SKU covers 120V through 347V.
Aluminum frame, 0-10V dimming, cETLus listed, five-year warranty.
What is a backlit LED panel?
The LEDs face straight down through the diffuser instead of firing sideways into an acrylic sheet. That's the whole difference, and it's why this panel has no light guide plate. Edge-lit panels need one, and that sheet is the part that yellows first, dropping output and shifting colour years before the LEDs give up. Nothing here to yellow. The trade-off is depth, and at 1.2 inches this one still drops into a standard T-bar grid.
What is the wattage of a 2x2 LED panel light?
Five, not one. A slide switch selects 20W, 25W, 30W, 35W or 40W, and it ships set to 40W. Measured output runs 2,520 lumens at 20W to 4,960 lumens at 40W at 4000K. A second switch picks 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, 5000K or 6000K. That's 25 configurations from one part number, which is why one box on the van covers an office, a corridor and a washroom.
Can you dim 2x2 LED lights?
This one dims 100% down to 10% on a 0-10V control signal. Votatec has bench-tested it with the Lutron DSTV-Diva. Older dimmers built for incandescent loads will behave erratically, and light loads sometimes need more than one fixture on the channel to hold steady, so check the dimmer's own instructions before you commit a floor to it.
What it fits, and what the manual rules out
It drops into a T-bar grid with no accessory. Everything else is ordered separately: spring clips, a suspended kit, a recessed frame, or a surface-mount frame if there's no grid at all. The junction box has five knockouts, one on the side sized for 90-degree conduit so the fitting clears the ceiling. Rated -20°C to 40°C. The manual restricts it to indoor use, so treat the damp rating on the spec sheet as unconfirmed for a wet or exposed location.
For the switch positions, the three mounting sequences and the tested-dimmer list, open the Manual and Spec sheet, and take the IES set if your designer needs photometry at each of the five wattage steps. Send us the fixture count per floor and we'll quote it wholesale and confirm the panel's current DLC listing status for your rebate paperwork.
