What's a T-bar frame light, and how's it different from a panel?
It's a frame, not a panel. The fixture is a slim aluminum border that sits in the grid where a tee would run, and your existing ceiling tile stays in place above it. Light comes off the four inside edges, so the tile works as a soft reflector instead of a flat lit sheet. The whole thing weighs 2.14 lb, a fraction of a filled troffer, which changes what your grid has to carry.
Will it run on a 347V lighting circuit?
Yes. The driver takes anything from AC120V to AC347V. That matters here because most Canadian commercial and industrial buildings distribute lighting at 347/600V three phase, while fixtures built to the American 277V ceiling need a transformer to land on that circuit. Most competing 2x4 panels stop at 277V.
How many do you need per square foot?
At 60W the fixture delivers 7,320 to 7,560 lumens depending on colour temperature (spec sheet, page 4). For a 900 sq ft open office at a 30 fc target, assuming a 0.6 coefficient of utilisation and a 0.85 light loss factor, that's about seven fixtures. Drop the switch to 40W and the same hardware gives you 5,000 lumens for corridors and back of house. Run the IES file for a real layout before you order.
What fits, and what doesn't
The driver is a separate metal box on a lead wire, not built into the frame. Mount it to a rigid surface and keep it clear of fan outlets and other HVAC components (installation manual, step e). Your ceiling tile sits above the frame, so you may need a small notch in the panel for the lead wire. Dry location and IP20 only. Keep it out of kitchens, wash bays, and anywhere it'll see moisture. Lutron's DSTV-Diva is the dimmer Votatec has tested, at 10 to 100 percent.
