What is a G25 LED light bulb?
A G25 is a globe-shaped lamp measured in eighths of an inch, so the 25 means 25/8 of an inch across, or 3.15 inches. This one stands 4.57 inches tall, screws into a standard E26 socket, and pushes light through a full 360 degrees. The milky glass is what sets it apart from the clear version of the same lamp.
Are G25 and E26 the same?
No, and it's worth being clear on it. G25 describes the bulb's shape and diameter. E26 describes the screw base it threads into. This lamp is both at once: a G25 globe on an E26 medium base, the same base a standard A19 uses. Any fixture that takes an E26 lamp will accept it, provided there's room for a 3.15 inch sphere.
When to spec milky instead of clear
Milky glass hides the filament and spreads the output evenly across the whole globe. That matters wherever the lamp sits at eye level and unshaded: bathroom vanity bars, open pendants, exposed globe fixtures. Choose the clear G25 when the filament itself is meant to be seen. Both are 9W on an E26 base, so they mix on one order. Milky ships in 3000K. Clear adds a 4000K option.
Dimming and fixture fit
Votatec tests this lamp against named dimmers: Leviton 6681, 6674 and 6683, and Lutron DVCL-153PLH, S600-P, DV600-P15 and MACL-153M. Stay on that list and you won't be fielding flicker or drop-out callbacks. Don't put it in an enclosed fixture. Trapped heat shortens filament life, and the lamp is rated IP20 for dry locations only, from -20C to 40C. It weighs 45 grams, so pendant cords carry it without sag.
