Product Overview

A GU10 track light bulb with the colour temperature on a switch. Slide it to 3000K, 4000K or 5000K at the fixture, so one part number covers warm, neutral and daylight jobs. 7W draw, 500Lm nominal, CRI above 80, a 40° beam and 120V input. It dims on the Lutron and Leviton controls listed in the spec panel. Polycarbonate lens, white housing, 0.5kV surge protection and an enclosed-fixture rating. ETL listed, 3-year warranty.

Are all GU10 LED bulbs the same?

No. The twist-lock base is standard, so any GU10 lamp seats in any GU10 holder. Everything past that varies: beam angle, colour temperature, dimming behaviour and whether the lamp can sit inside a closed housing. This one takes a decision off the order form. A three-position switch on the body sets 3000K, 4000K or 5000K. You stock one part number instead of three, and a site that changes its mind after drywall gets fixed with a twist rather than a return.

What type of bulb is best for track lighting?

A narrow beam. Track heads are aiming devices, and a wide flood defeats the point. This lamp runs 40°, which reads as a defined pool on merchandise, artwork or a feature wall rather than a wash. Many GU10 lamps sold for track duty run 90° or wider, so check the beam figure before comparing on price.

Why do GU10 bulbs keep blowing?

Three reasons, and this lamp answers all three. Heat is the usual culprit, since a lamp not rated for an enclosed housing cooks itself in one. This one is rated for enclosed fixtures. Second is a dimmer that isn't built for LED loads, which is why the spec panel names the Lutron and Leviton controls it was tested against. Third is line transients, so 0.5kV of surge protection is fitted as standard.

Will it fit your housing?

It's 2.37 inches tall, 1.97 across, and weighs 52 grams. Check the height against shallow track heads and older halogen cans before committing to a quantity.
