This GU10 LED is rated for enclosed fixtures, which most GU10 lamps aren't. It's a 7W lamp measuring 6.6W in test, giving 554 to 572 lumens depending on the colour temperature you order, with CRI above 80 and a 40 degree beam.
Order it in 3000K, 4000K or 5000K.
Dimmable, IP20, cUL listed, 0.5kV surge protection as standard, backed by a 3-year warranty.
Can you use this GU10 LED in an enclosed fixture?
Yes, and that's the reason to specify it. A GU10 housing leaves almost no room for convective cooling, so most GU10 LEDs carry an open-fixture-only restriction and die early behind a glass shade or a sealed trim. Votatec rates this one for enclosed fixtures on the spec sheet. It's rated from -20°C to +45°C, and it performs best around 25°C.
What dimmer works with a 7W GU10 LED?
Pair it with an LED-rated CL dimmer. The Lutron Diva DVCL-153PLH, the Lutron Maestro MACL-153M and the Leviton SureSlide 6674 are all rated for dimmable LED loads, and they're the safe specification here. Older incandescent-only dimmers will light the lamp, but you'll get flicker, a narrow dimming band and early drop-out at the bottom of the range. Count your lamps per circuit too. At 6.6W each, a short run can fall under a dimmer's minimum load.
How bright is a 7W GU10 LED?
554 to 572 lumens, depending on the colour temperature. For accent and track work the more useful number is centre-beam intensity, and lab photometry on the 3000K version puts it at 720 candela inside a 37 degree beam. Measured efficacy is 90 lm/W. That's the figure to give your designer when you're aiming at merchandise, artwork or a feature wall, because lumens alone won't tell you what lands on the target.
Will it fit your track head or recessed trim?
It's 2.25 inches tall and 1.97 inches in diameter, at 50g. Check that height before you order. The 3-way CCT version of this same lamp is 2.37 inches, so a housing that takes one won't always take the other. The lens is PC and the housing is white. IP20 means indoor dry locations only, so this isn't the lamp for a soffit, a cooler or a wet-rated shower trim.
For the CCT-by-CCT lumen table, dimensions and compliance detail, open the spec sheet (PDF), and grab the IES file if your designer needs the candela distribution for a track or accent layout.
