Clear glass, visible crossed filament, and the brightest body in the T25 range.
At 5.5W it delivers 637Lm at 3000K and 662Lm at 5000K, so efficacy runs 130 to 133 lm/W. CRI clears 80. The beam is a full 360 degrees, which suits open sockets where the lamp is seen from every side.
Glass lens, E12 anti-shock base, 0.5kV surge protection, dimmable, cETLus listed, 15,000-hour rated life, 3-year warranty.
What does the T mean in light bulbs?
T means tubular, and the number is the diameter. Watch this one, because Votatec's T25 is 25mm across, which measures 0.98in. North American shape codes count eighths of an inch, so a US datasheet calls the same lamp a T8. Two other products carry the T25 label and aren't this lamp at all: the 3157 automotive wedge bulb, and the E14 cooker-hood lamp sold in Europe. Check the base before ordering. This one is E12 candelabra, 120V mains.
Which colour temperature should you order?
You pick it at order time. This lamp isn't field switchable, so 3000K, 4000K and 5000K are three separate part numbers rather than a switch on the body. Output moves with the choice: 637Lm at 3000K, 630Lm at 4000K, 662Lm at 5000K. Warm 3000K suits chandeliers and sconces where the filament is on show. 5000K is the brightest of the three and the one to specify for utility and task positions.
Why 5.5W matters on an E12 lamp
Most T25 filament lamps stocked in Canada run 3.5W and land near 350Lm. This one draws 5.5W and measures 637Lm, so it's close to double the output from the same socket, at 130 lm/W. That's the difference between a chandelier that decorates a room and one that lights it. Power factor is rated above 0.7 and the lamp carries 0.5kV surge protection as standard.
What this lamp won't fit
Not enclosed fixtures. The sheet states it plainly, and trapped heat around the base is what shortens a filament lamp's life. It's rated IP20, so dry locations only, across an ambient range of -25C to 40C. The body is 3.43in tall by 0.98in across and weighs 14g, so measure the lamp compartment before committing to a chandelier retrofit.
