T45 Filament LED

The clear T45, listed across North America as a T14, sets a crossed LED filament behind plain glass so the lamp becomes the detail in an open fixture.

7W measures 888 lumens at 3000K on a standard E26 base, 121 lm/W, with CRI above 80. It's the only T45 build offered in 4000K and 5000K.

What is a T45 bulb?

A T45 is a tubular decorative bulb 45mm across, which most North American suppliers list as a T14. Same glass, two naming systems: T for tubular, then the diameter in millimetres or in eighths of an inch. This one measures 1.77" (45mm) wide by 4.21" (107mm) tall on an E26 screw base, so it drops into pendants, open sconces and exposed chandeliers built to show the lamp.

How bright is a 7W T45?

Brighter than the shape usually gets. Independent photometry on this lamp records 888 lumens at 3000K drawing 7.31W, or 121 lm/W. Most T45s on the market sit between 190 and 750 lumens, sold for atmosphere rather than light. Spec this one where a decorative fixture still has to do a job: a work counter, a reception desk, a stairwell.

Clear or milky, and which colour?

Clear when the filament pattern is the point, milky when the lamp hangs below eye height. Frosted glass hides the filament and kills the glare, at about 11% of the output on Votatec's own test table. Colour is where the clear build pulls ahead: order it in 3000K, 4000K or 5000K, while the milky comes in 3000K only. Decide the colour before you order, it isn't switchable at the fixture.

Where this bulb can't go

Open fixtures only. The spec sheet rates the T45 as not suitable for enclosed fixtures, so sealed globes, gasketed jars and closed ceiling pans trap heat and eat into the 15,000-hour life. IP20 keeps it indoors and dry. One note the datasheet doesn't carry: the filament is a flat crossed board, so measured intensity varies by roughly half as you rotate around the tube. In a clear fixture, turn the flat face towards the room.
