A 300W low voltage transformer for 12V landscape lighting, rated to run from -40°C to 45°C. That's a full Canadian winter, not a mild-climate spec.
It converts 120V to 12VAC at 25 amps, feeding up to 300W of fixtures across two separate output circuits. The photocell holds them dusk to dawn, or you can cap the run at 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours.

How do you reset a low voltage transformer?
Two protections shut this unit down, and they clear differently. If the load pushes internal temperature past 105°C, over-temperature protection cuts the input. Disconnect it, drop some fixtures off the run, then wait. The manual gives it two to three hours to cool before it'll take power again. A short circuit on the output side is faster, disconnecting within one second. Clear the fault, reconnect, and it resets itself. There's also power-off memory, so after an outage it returns to the mode it was in.
What goes wrong with these outdoors?
Most callbacks aren't the transformer. They're the photocell reading the wrong light. Mount it somewhere brightly lit and it triggers at true dusk. Put it on an east wall, under a patio or behind shrubs and it switches on early, because the sensor sees dark before the yard does. Point it away from windows, porch lights and street lights or it may not trigger at all. The other common one is overload.
How cold can it run, and where does it mount?
Working range is -40°C to 45°C (-40°F to 113°F), which covers Prairie and northern Ontario sites. Mount it on a wall 39 to 59 inches (1m to 1.5m) above grade, using the screws and anchors in the box. Keep it 10 feet clear of a pool, spa or fountain, off combustible material, and never on a dimmer. One caution: IP44 covers splashing water, so this belongs under an eave or a soffit rather than a fully exposed wall.
Two output circuits from one transformer
The terminal block gives you two 12V and COM pairs rather than one, so a front and back run can leave the same unit on separate pulls. The 300W cap covers both combined, not each. Size cable to load and distance: the manual's chart stops at 50 feet on 12 AWG at full load.
