The VO-RF15W24 is a 15" LED flush mount ceiling light that sits 1.4" off the drywall, so it clears the low basement and hallway ceilings a semi-flush can't.
Five wattages and five colour temperatures switch on the ring: 15W through 24W, 2700K through 5000K, 1,339 to 2,155 lumens, CRI 80+, 120V, dimmable to 10%.
Iron housing, PMMA diffuser, 2.5kV surge protection, cETLus listed for damp locations, 5 year warranty. Silver, black or gold ring.
When should you use a flush mount ceiling light?
When there's no headroom for a pendant or a semi-flush. This one is 1.4" deep across a 15" diameter, thin enough for a seven foot basement, a stairwell, or a corridor where a hanging fixture becomes a head strike. The 140 degree beam spreads wide, so one unit covers a small room without scalloping the walls.
Is it easy to replace a flush mount ceiling light?
Yes, when there's already a junction box. Three wirenuts and two 1-1/2" box screws come in the carton, so there's nothing extra to source. Back off the three ring screws counterclockwise, fit the box screws, match ground, black and white, seat the plate over the screw locks, then rotate clockwise and retighten. Kill the breaker first. Wear gloves, because the metal edges are sharp.
Set the colour temperature and wattage before you mount it
Both switches sit on the outer ring, and the manual says choose your setting before the fixture goes up. Five wattages by five temperatures gives 25 output combinations from one part number, so the same carton does a 15W/2700K bedroom and a 24W/4000K laundry room. Efficacy improves as you step the wattage down, from 80 lm/W at 24W to 97 lm/W at 15W. It dims 10% to 100% on ELV and TRIAC controls, and the spec sheet names the tested Lutron and Leviton models.
Where this fixture can and can't go
Damp locations, yes. Wet locations, no. The cETLus damp listing covers bathroom ceilings outside the shower spray, covered porches, laundry rooms and garages. IP20 means no water ingress protection at all, so keep it clear of direct spray and wind driven rain. It runs from -20°C to 40°C, mounts horizontal or vertical, and ships in silver, black or gold.
