A 10W LED track head that fits H-type halo three-wire track, with five colour temperatures set by a switch on the housing. No separate lamp to buy. Tested output runs 702 to 880 lumens depending on the CCT you pick, at CRI above 90 with a 36 degree beam. Triac dimming, 120V. Cold-forged aluminium body, pivots 90 degrees either way and rotates 350 degrees. ETL listed, damp rated, five year warranty.
Are track light heads universal?
No. A track head only fits the track profile it's built for, and this one is H-type, also sold as halo-style three-wire. It won't seat in J-type (Juno) or L-type track. The contacts on H-type sit at a different spacing, and the adapter moulded into this head matches that spacing only. Check the profile of your existing rail before ordering. If you're running new track, Votatec supplies matching halo-style rail in 2ft, 4ft and 8ft, plus T, L, X and flexible connectors, so the head and the rail come from one source and one order.
Can you replace track lighting heads?
Yes, and this one takes about a minute. It uses a daisy connection, so the old head twists off and the replacement seats without dropping the rail or rewiring anything. Kill the circuit, swap the head, restore power. On a retail floor that means a dead head gets replaced between customers instead of after hours.
Five colour temperatures, one part number
A switch inside the housing selects 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K or 5000K. One SKU covers a warm boutique fit-out and a cool showroom, so you stock fewer part numbers and settle the CCT question on site rather than on a change order. Output does move with the setting. 3500K is the brightest position at 880 lumens, 5000K the dimmest at 702.
What fits, and what doesn't
Budget three heads per foot of track on a single adapter, up to twelve heads across a four foot run. The head is IP20 and ETL listed for damp locations, so it's an indoor fitting. Don't put it in an enclosed fixture, the spec sheet rules that out. Housings come in white or black and each head weighs 0.81lb, so a standard rail carries a full run without extra support.
