The 16W is the high-output PL lamp in the range, and it installs two ways. Type A+B means it runs on a compatible electronic ballast today, and on line voltage after that ballast is bypassed later. Replaces 32W and 42W CFL. 1650 to 1850 lumens depending on colour temperature, CRI 80, five field-selectable CCTs from 2700K to 5000K on a body switch. cUL certified for damp locations. IP20, mercury-free, 50,000 hours, 5-year warranty.

Which CFL does the 16W PL lamp replace?

The 42W. Model LEDPL-16-G24Q-8SC1-HYB targets the 42W/7T4/M/GX24Q-4 lamp and covers 32W CFL swaps as well. It seats in both G24q and GX24q 4-pin sockets on 120-277V. Output isn't flat across the range: you get 1650 lumens at 2700K, 1750 at 3000K and 3500K, and 1850 at 4000K and 5000K. If the spec calls for warm light, budget the lower number.

Should you order the 9W or the 16W?

Match the lamp you're pulling out. Replacing 26W CFLs, take the 9W. Replacing 32W or 42W, take this one. Worth knowing before you oversize: the 9W is the more efficient of the two, 122 lm/W against 116 here. Both share the same body, base, switch, certification and warranty.

Does the 16W wire the same as the 9W?

Single-lamp wiring, yes. Type A on a compatible electronic ballast, or Type B direct to line voltage once the ballast is bypassed. The difference is the two-lamp configuration, which the manual approves for the 9W only. Wire the 16W one lamp per diagram. Electronic ballasts only, never magnetic. Pull the automatic starters in pre-heat luminaires. Cut the power before you move the CCT switch.

Will it fit the cans you already have?

It's 6.77 in long and 2.36 in across, longer than a shallow can is deep. That's what the articulation is for. Rotate the head 90 degrees and lock it horizontal for 8 in and 10 in cans at 4.5 in depth, or leave it vertical in 5 in and 6 in housings at 8 in depth. The base turns and the body extends. Ambient tops out at 45C. It isn't dimmable, and it isn't rated for emergency exit units.
