The 9W LED PL lamp runs either way. Keep the fixture's electronic ballast and plug it in, or bypass the ballast and wire straight to line voltage. One Type A+B lamp covers both retrofits. Replaces a 26W CFL on 9W. Up to 1100 lumens, CRI 80, and five field-selectable colour temperatures from 2700K to 5000K on a body switch. cUL certified for damp locations. IP20, enclosed-fixture rated, mercury-free, 50,000 hours, 5-year warranty.

What is a Type A+B LED PL lamp?

PL means a pin-base compact fluorescent lamp. Type A+B means this LED replacement works two ways. Type A runs on the fixture's existing electronic ballast: swap the lamp and you're done. Type B skips the ballast and takes line voltage straight to the socket. Hybrid means no fixture survey before you order. Model LEDPL-9-G24Q-8SC1-HYB fits G24q and GX24q 4-pin sockets on 120-277V, targeting the 26W/8T4/Q/G24Q-3 lamp.

How do you know if you need Type A or Type B?

Look at the ballast. Working electronic ballast on the tested list? Install as Type A and leave it in place. Magnetic, dead, or already stripped out? Wire it direct as Type B. This lamp only runs on electronic ballasts, so a magnetic one has to come out either way. In pre-heat luminaires, pull the automatic starters before fitting the lamp. Kill the power before you touch the CCT switch.

Which ballasts has it been tested on?

33 electronic ballast modules, listed by module number in the spec sheet. At 120V single-lamp, 22 pass and 9 fail outright. Two-lamp wiring at 120V clears 25 of the 33, and the 9W takes a two-lamp configuration the 16W can't. Check the chart before committing to a Type A install. Unlisted ballasts may still work, but nobody has verified them.

Will it fit the cans you already have?

Mounted horizontally with the cap rotated, it suits 8 inch and 10 inch recessed cans at 4.5 inch height. Vertically, 5 inch and 6 inch cans at 8 inch height. The head pivots 90 degrees, the base rotates and locks, and the body extends, so one SKU covers both. Ambient ceiling is 45C. Not for emergency exit fixtures.
