7″ Slim Flush Mount – 3Way CCT

The 7-inch Slim Flush Mount is a square surface-mount LED panel that fixes to a standard junction box, so there's no hole to cut and no recessed housing to fit. It's 0.59 inches deep.

What are the modern alternatives to pot lights?

A surface-mount panel like this one. Pot lights need a hole cut in the ceiling and clearance in the cavity above it. This panel fixes to a junction box on the finished surface instead, so it goes up on concrete, plaster, strapping and metal deck, and on any ceiling you can't or shouldn't cut. It measures 6.37 inches across and 0.59 inches deep, so it reads almost flat on a low basement or corridor ceiling.

How does the 7-inch square panel install?

Three steps, from the manual. Fix the mounting bracket to the junction box, connect the wire, then push the panel onto the bracket and turn it clockwise to lock. Nothing screws through the visible trim. Kill the breaker first and wire it to the Canadian Electrical Code. It dims on forward-phase Triac dimmers only.

Do LED flush mount lights get hot?

Not enough to worry about at 12W, and the manual gives a rated ambient of -20°C to +40°C, so an unheated garage or a covered entry is inside spec. Don't bury it. The manual rules out contact with heat-insulating material, which means this isn't an insulation-contact fixture and shouldn't sit under an attic blanket.

Where can you install it?

Damp locations, indoors. Bathrooms, covered porches, laundry rooms, stairwells and corridors. It isn't wet-rated, so keep it clear of direct spray. The LED board and driver are sealed in and the manual says not to change either, so treat it as a sealed unit.

Why does a 3-CCT switch cut your stock?

One part number covers warm, neutral and cool. Set 3000K in the suites, 4000K in the corridor and 5000K in the service room from the same carton, so you hold one SKU instead of three. The 9-inch 18W and 12-inch 24W use the same switch.
