4″ Slim Square Panel 5way CCT

The 4" Slim Square Panel is an ENERGY STAR certified pot light, which puts it on a live certification register that most 4-inch square units aren't on. One slide switch sets 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K or 5000K before you install it.

It draws 12W for 1,000 lm certified at 5000K, with CRI 85, a 0.98 power factor and 60,000 hours rated life.

What size hole do I need for a 4-inch recessed light?

A 4.15" round hole. The square trim covers a round cut-out, so you're using the same hole saw as a round 4" pot light and no square cutting is needed. The trim measures 4.72" square with a 2.80" lit aperture. Housing depth is 0.94" above the ceiling with a 0.39" flange below it, so it drops into shallow joist bays and tight soffits where a canned fixture won't go.

What type of bulb is compatible with a 4-inch recessed light?

None. This is an integrated LED panel, so there's no bulb to buy and no can to mount. The driver lives in a separate junction box measuring 3.4" x 3.3" x 1.3" that wires straight to your 120V feed. Rated life is 60,000 hours, which is roughly 27 years at 6 hours a day, and the whole assembly is replaced as one unit at end of life.

Five colour temperatures, one part number

The slide switch on the junction box selects 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K or 5000K. For a distributor that's one SKU covering warm residential, neutral office and cool garage jobs instead of five lines of stock. Set it before the panel goes into the ceiling, because the switch sits on the driver box and isn't reachable through the trim afterwards.

Can it touch insulation?

Yes. It's IC rated, so batts and blown-in insulation can sit against the housing without a clearance box, which is what makes it usable in an insulated ceiling or an attic-side install. It's rated for damp locations, so covered porches and bathrooms are fine. It dims continuously on a compatible TRIAC dimmer.
