The VO-FN90CF-PC-AC moves 90 CFM through a 4 in. oval discharge with a built-in backdraft damper, sized for bathrooms up to about 90 sq ft.
It draws 30W at 120V/60Hz and runs at 2.0 sones on a dual ball-bearing motor with a thermal cut-off fuse.
The housing is moulded in V0 flame-retardant ABS. cETL listed for insulated ceilings, and for mounting over a tub or shower on a GFCI-protected circuit. Two-year warranty.
What size bathroom does a 90 CFM fan cover?
About 90 square feet. The Home Ventilating Institute rule is 1 CFM per square foot between 50 and 100 sq ft, so this one covers a room up to roughly 9 ft by 10 ft. Past 100 sq ft, count fixtures instead: 50 CFM each for toilet, shower and tub, 100 for a jetted tub.
One caveat. That 90 CFM is measured at 0.1 in. w.g. A real duct run sits higher, and a fan on existing ductwork may not reach rated airflow at all.
Can a bathroom fan have too much CFM?
Yes, and you'll hear it first. "CFM too great" is the opening entry in this fan's own troubleshooting table for a unit louder than it should be. Oversizing also drags conditioned air out of a tight house faster than it gets replaced. Size to the room.
Checking a fan that's already in? Run a shower. If the room clears in about 15 minutes it's working. The tissue test tells you almost nothing.
Where this fan is listed to go
The housing is V0 flame-retardant ABS, a self-extinguishing grade under UL 94, and the motor carries a thermal fuse. It's cETL listed for insulated ceilings, Type I.C., and over a bathtub or shower on a GFCI-protected circuit. Not every plastic bath fan holds that second listing.
Will it fit your ceiling and your duct?
Cut 10 in. x 10 in. Housing is 11-1/4 in. square by 4 in. deep, grille covers 12-1/4 in. square. On a swap-out, measure the old opening first and confirm the grille still covers it.
Discharge is 4 in. oval, so budget an oval-to-round transition. Don't reduce below 4 in., that adds noise. Keep the first elbow 18 in. clear. Two hard limits: no ceiling insulated above R40, and no dimmer or solid-state speed control.
