How many 2ft strips can you link on one run?
Twenty-four at 120V. Sixty-nine at 347V. Votatec's own installation manual gives both figures, along with 0.23A per fixture at 120V and 0.08A at 347V, and the 347V column is the reason this fixture keeps showing up in tall buildings. One feed, one row, two thirds fewer home runs.
Splicing is mechanical. A connection bracket joins the housings, then you move the spring terminals from one fixture into the next.
Can every fixture in a spliced row carry a sensor?
No, and this is the thing to plan around. Each housing is 604mm long, so a spliced row puts sensors 0.6m apart. The installation manual asks for at least 1m between microwave sensors, and the remote-control manual asks for more than 3m. Follow the stricter figure and you're placing a sensor every fifth fixture.

What the built-in sensor actually detects
Movement, not heat. It's microwave, so it reads motion between 0.3 and 1 m/s and it'll see through the diffuser rather than needing a lens. Warm-up is 15 seconds.
Out of the box you get 100% detection area, a 5 second hold and a 10% standby level. The optional remote stretches hold time to 30 minutes, standby to indefinite, and sets a daylight threshold between 5 and 150 lux. Mount it at 3m, 4m at the most. Keep 30cm clear of metal, glass and concrete, or reflections hold the light on.
Where a 2ft sensor strip earns its place
Stairwell landings, utility rooms, and retail or office common areas. Short runs where a 4ft fixture overshoots the space and full output all night wastes the budget.
