How many of these can you link together?
Five at 90W. The run limit is 500W total, so the count follows the wattage you select: 5 at 90W, 6 at 80W, 7 at 70W, 8 at 60W. Feed-through wiring runs through the side knockouts, and 6" power and dimming cables come in every box. Drop the switch one step and you gain a fixture per circuit, cheaper than pulling another home run.
What works out of the box, and what needs the remote?
Out of the box the sensor holds light for 5 seconds with no stand-by period. That's the factory test profile, not a setting you'd run an aisle on. Changing it needs the RC-MH100 remote, ordered separately, with three scene presets: 5, 10 or 20 minute hold and a 10 or 30 minute stand-by at 10% dim. Budget it into the first order. One unit commissions the whole run.
Does it replace an 8ft fluorescent strip?
That's the common swap. Canada's Products Containing Mercury Regulations stopped manufacture and import of T5 and T8 linear fluorescent lamps after 2025-12-31, with replacement lamps exempt to 2027-12-31 and existing stock sellable to the end of 2029. Facilities running 8ft twin-lamp strips are on a clock. At 90W and 12600 lm this lands above a typical 8ft twin-lamp fixture while adding occupancy control the fluorescent never had.
Where it fits, and where it doesn't
Mount the sensor at 6 m (20 ft) or lower. Above that, detection gets unreliable and a dedicated high bay sensor is the better tool. Two limits worth knowing: the sensor is rated to -20°C while the fixture itself goes to -40°C, so unheated space below -20°C puts the sensor out of spec. And IP44 is damp rated, not wet. Wired 0-10V dimming reaches 10%; the remote only reaches 50%.
