A double emergency remote head, no battery inside. It wires to a compatible emergency battery unit's remote circuit, so one central unit lights corridors and stairs it can't reach itself.
Two 5W heads, 10W total, on any DC supply from 6V to 24V. Draw runs 1.89A at 6V down to 0.43A at 24V. CRI above 80, 30 degree beam, both heads rotate and tilt.

What is a remote head emergency light?
It's an emergency light with no battery of its own. A separate battery unit feeds it low voltage DC, and the head lights up when that unit drops to battery power. One central unit covers several rooms this way.
That's the point. Battery units are heavy and want a serviceable spot near a panel. Exit routes rarely run past it.
Which emergency units will run this head?
Any unit with a spare remote circuit between 6 and 24 volts DC. Votatec units publish a remote wattage budget, and this head draws 10W of it.

Filling a unit to its full budget buys the shortest runtime. Ontario wants 30 minutes in most occupancies, one hour in care and retirement buildings, and two hours in a high building under OBC Article 3.2.7.4. Pick the runtime first, then count heads.
One warning worth repeating: this head is 6-24V DC, not a 120V fixture. Line voltage will destroy it.
Wire runs and voltage drop
The head draws constant power, so current falls as supply voltage rises: 1.89A at 6V, 0.43A at 24V. A 24V unit buys smaller conductors or longer runs for the same drop. Check anything past 15 metres. Polarity is labelled at the head, red positive and black negative.
Where it can and can't go
Indoor only, per the manual. Treat covered exterior soffits as a factory question, not an assumption. The rated range is 0°C to 30°C, which rules out unheated garages, loading docks and hot mechanical rooms.
The canopy is 127mm and lands on a standard junction box, wall or ceiling. Mounting screws aren't in the carton, so bring them. Check clearance too: the heads span 209mm across, well past what the 5 inch canopy suggests.
