The 3ft Slim Integrated T5 is a hardwired under-cabinet LED fixture that links six units from a single feed, so one connection lights a 17.8ft run.
It draws 13W for about 1,300 lumens, and a switch on the housing picks the colour temperature on site. CRI is above 80.
The housing is 1 inch wide and 0.6 inches deep. cULus listed, dimmable on seven named dimmers, rated 50,000 hours, warranted 5 years.
Should under cabinet lighting be hardwired?
For commercial and new-build work, yes. A hardwired feed removes the visible cord, frees the receptacle and puts the run on a switched circuit the occupant can't unplug. This fixture is built for that: 120V goes straight in, and the wire box with an integral on/off switch is ordered alongside it. If you'd rather plug it in, a 1.2M cord with a moulded plug is available for the same fixture, so a single SKU covers both a retail display and a permanent kitchen install.
Do I need a transformer for these LED lights?
No. The driver is inside the housing and the fixture runs on line voltage, AC120V at 60Hz, tolerating 108V to 132V. That's the practical difference between this and low-voltage tape light, which needs a separate transformer sized to the run, somewhere to hide it, and a voltage-drop calculation. Here you land a 120V feed and you're finished.
How many fixtures can you link together?
Six, at this length. That's 17.8ft of continuous illuminated run drawing 78W in total, about 0.65A at 120V, from one connection. Fixtures on the same line join end to end. For cabinets on different runs, connecting cables bridge the gap and the light stays on one switch leg. Cap the last fixture with the female end cap in the box.
What to check before you order
Set the colour temperature before the fixture goes up. The selector sits on the housing and you can't reach it once the unit is clipped under a cabinet. Mounting needs two holes near the ends, and the box supplies roll plugs, two clip sizes and both 4x22mm and 4x16mm screws, so most cabinet bases and drywall are covered. It's rated for indoor use from -20°C to +45°C. Dimming works on seven listed Lutron and Leviton models, so confirm the dimmer on site before you quote.
