Votatec's 1.5in in-ground spot light drops into a 1.57in cut hole and finishes flush with grade. Nothing sits above ground to mow around or knock over.
It draws 1W at 12V AC/DC and gives 62 to 69 lumens depending on which colour temperature you wire in, across a 45 degree beam at CRI above 80. Three colour temperatures, picked at install.

What are in-ground lights called?
Well lights, or in-grade lights. Same fixture under all three names: a sealed can that buries flush with the surface and throws light upward. Votatec lists this one as a spot light because the 45 degree beam is tight enough to graze a wall or pick out a small tree, rather than wash an open bed.
Do you need an electrician to install in-ground lighting?
Yes, and the manual says so. Two steps a general crew tends to skip. The ABS mounting sleeve goes into the hole first and has to finish level with the surrounding grade. Under it, the gravel must be at least 25cm deep so the housing drains instead of standing in a puddle. Joint the AWG 22 leads with a waterproof connector, and leave slack for service later.
Does IP67 mean it can sit under water?
No. IP67 covers temporary immersion, about one metre for 30 minutes under IEC 60529, which is what a flooded lawn looks like after a storm. Continuous submersion is IP68. The manual says plainly not to install this fixture under water, so keep it out of ponds, fountains and reflecting pools.
How do you set the colour temperature?
By wire, before you backfill. Yellow gives 3000K, red gives 5000K, both together give 4000K, and black is the negative. There's no switch to reach afterward, so settle the colour on site before the sleeve drops in. The fixture isn't dimmable.
Where this fixture shouldn't go
Two exclusions worth catching at quote stage. The stainless surface is rated for natural ground conditions only, so keep it away from sea water and from high salt or high acid soils. And the ambient range stops at -20C. Much of Canada runs colder in January, so check the design low for your site first.
