Product Overview

Votatec's LED bollard is a line-voltage pathway fixture you set in the field, not on the order form. One part number covers 15W, 20W and 25W, three colour temperatures, and a full or half beam, all from DIP switches under the head. Output runs 1455 to 2600 lumens at 80+ CRI, on 120-347VAC, with an integrated photocell and 0-10V dimming. Die-cast aluminum. IP66, IK08, cETL wet location, 4KV surge, 5-year warranty.

How far apart should bollard lights be placed?

Spacing follows mounting height and the light level you're after, not the lumen package. Common pathway practice puts bollards 8 to 10 feet apart, and the usual rule of thumb caps spacing at four times mounting height, so the 36" model tops out near 12 feet and the 42" near 14. IESNA asks for 0.5 footcandles minimum on walkways at 4:1 uniformity, tighter than a parking lot needs. It throws a 170 x 170 degree distribution, wide and shallow. Pull the IES file and run the layout before you commit to a fixture count.

Are bollard lights easy to install?

Plan for concrete. The anchor cage ships pre-assembled in the accessory bag and sets into a suggested 250mm square column, 300mm deep, with a 30 to 55mm hole for conduit. Three M8 bolts land on a 100mm circle at 8 N.m. The head takes four M5 screws at 2.5 N.m. Terminal block isn't included, and the manual is direct: qualified person only. Order backfilled anchors and the bolt template doesn't come with them.

Set the switches before the head goes on

Four DIP switches sit under the head: power, photocell on/off, zone, and CCT. Reaching them after mounting means backing out four M5 screws, so set them on the ground. Kill the power first, and don't use a metal tool.

What the zone setting changes

Zone A or B lights one side. AB lights both. Half zone keeps spill off a property line or a bedroom window while still washing the walkway. It costs output: 2250 lumens at 25W and 3000K, against 2500 on full. For anchor dimensions, torque values, switch positions and wiring colours, open the Manual (PDF), and pull the IES file if your designer needs the 170 x 170 photometry.
