The 1ft Slim Integrated T5 is a hardwired under-cabinet LED fixture that links 16 units from a single feed, the longest continuous run in the range at 16ft.
It draws 5W for 500 lumens, and a switch on the housing picks the colour temperature on site. CRI is above 80.
The body measures 12 inches by 1 inch by 0.6 inches. cULus listed, dimmable, rated 50,000 hours, warranted 5 years.
How many 1ft T5 fixtures can you link together?
Sixteen, more than any other size in this range. That's a 16ft run off one connection drawing 80W, about 0.67A at 120V. The limit is current, not length. Every size tops out near 80W, which is why the 0.5ft links 26 and the 4ft only 4. Fixtures on one line join end to end, and the last takes the female end cap from the box.
How are these under-cabinet lights wired?
On line voltage, straight in. The driver sits inside the housing, so there's no transformer to size and no voltage-drop calculation. That's the practical split between this and low-voltage tape light. Three feed options exist: a plain power cord, a 1.2M cord with a moulded plug for display work, and a wire box with a female end and an integral on/off switch. Order the feed as its own line item, one per run rather than one per fixture.
What fits a 12 inch cabinet bay?
This one. Twelve inches long, an inch wide, 0.6 inches deep. It covers short bays, millwork returns and the leftover gap at the end of a longer run, which is why it links in higher counts than the rest. The beam is wide, measured at 118 degrees across all three colour settings, so set it toward the front edge of the cabinet to keep light on the counter instead of the backsplash.
What to check before you order
Set the colour temperature first. The selector is on the housing and you can't reach it once the fixture is clipped in. The box holds two clips, two roll plugs, a female end cap and both 4x22mm and 4x16mm screws. Indoor only, rated -20°C to +45°C. Dimming runs on seven listed Lutron and Leviton models, but that list covers the whole 3W to 18W family, so on a short 5W run confirm the dimmer's minimum load.
