How many lumens should under cabinet lighting be?
Most guides put under-cabinet task lighting between 200 and 500 lumens per linear foot. This fixture measures 1,950 to 2,070 lumens across its three colour settings on EVERFINE goniophotometer reports, roughly 490 to 520 lumens per foot over its four-foot length. That's the bright end of the task range. It suits a workbench or a display run, and it's worth dimming back over a kitchen counter.
Do you have to hardwire it?
No. The fixture takes a two-pin feed at either end, and you can power it from a hardwired wire box with an on/off switch or from a cord with a plug. Both are sold separately, so pick the one the install calls for. Electricians running a switched circuit take the wire box, and shop or display installs usually take the cord.
How many can you link from one feed?
Fixtures link end to end on their own connectors, and a connecting cable jumps between runs that aren't in a straight line. The last fixture gets the female end cap from the box. Check the maximum in the manual before quoting a long run, because the spec sheet and the manual give different numbers at four feet.
Will it fit under your cabinet?
It's 47.5 inches long, 1 inch wide and 0.6 inches deep, so it clears most face frames and sits behind a standard valance. Four clips ship in the box, two standard and two larger, with roll plugs and two screw sizes. Set the colour switch before you clip it in, because the switch sits on the fixture body and you can't reach it once it's up. It runs from -20 to +45 degrees C, so an unheated garage is fine.
