What are full cut-off lighting fixtures?
A full cut-off fixture pushes its light below the horizontal plane instead of spraying it sideways and up. The flat lens sits parallel to the ground, so you light the wall face and the pavement rather than the neighbour's window. Municipal site-plan approvals across the GTA increasingly ask for this shape on perimeter and laneway lighting. This fixture's peak intensity sits about 50 degrees off straight down, which is what carries light away from the wall instead of pooling it at the base.
How does a wall pack differ from a flood light?
A wall pack mounts flush to a building and throws in one fixed direction. A flood light aims wherever you point it. Pick the wall pack when you're lighting a building perimeter, a service door or a loading area from the wall itself, and you want a sealed junction-box mount with no aiming to drift out of position later.
What size wall pack do I need?
Size it by the lumens the site needs, not the watts. This one covers four steps in a single part number, so you don't have to commit at the quoting stage: 8,793 lumens at 60W up to 16,463 lumens at 120W. Worth knowing before you order, the 4000K setting is the brightest of the three at every wattage, not 5000K.
Wiring and weather sealing
Black to line, white to common, green to ground. For 0-10V dimming, purple is (+) and pink or grey is (-). Never tie the pink or grey dimming lead to ground. Confirm your junction box matches the fixture's mounting provisions before you hang it. When you close the door lens, nothing can sit in the gasket channel, and the manual calls for weatherproof silicone between the housing and the wall. That gasket seal is what holds the IP65 rating.
