How long do LED wall packs last?
Rated 50,000 hours to L70, the point where it still puts out 70% of its original light. Run dusk to dawn on the photocell and that's roughly 11 years. L70 isn't a failure date. It's where the drop gets visible next to a new fixture, which is why phased replacements along one wall look uneven.
What are the disadvantages of a built-in photocell?
A photocell only knows dark from light. It won't dim at midnight, won't react to occupancy, and it'll hold the fixture on if a nearby sign washes the sensor. That's what the OFF position is for. Switch it off and the wall pack takes its schedule from your panel, contactor or 0-10V signal. Purple is V+, pink is V-, and pink never goes to ground.
Which wattage setting is most efficient?
The lowest one. Across the 12 tested combinations this fixture measures 141 to 164 lumens per watt, and efficacy climbs as you step the wattage down. At 60W it's near the top of that band, at 120W the bottom. If the photometrics let you cover the wall at 80W, you get more light per watt and more rebate headroom than running it flat out. Steps also draw under nameplate, so 100W measures about 93 to 95W.
What the IP65 rating depends on
Four field steps, all in the manual, none optional. Waterproof the cable inlet. Remove both drain plugs once mounted, so water leaves instead of pooling. Run silicone between wall and housing. Re-tighten the selector cover plug after setting wattage and colour. Set those switches with the power off and mount the fixture lens-down. Miss one and you've got an IP65 fixture with a path inside.
