This 18W LED corn light is rated for enclosed fixtures, so it goes inside a sealed post top or acorn globe where most retrofit lamps cook their driver.
It replaces a 50W metal halide, gives 2,520 to 2,790 lumens at 150 lm/W, and switches between 3000K, 4000K and 5000K at the lamp. Both E26 and E39 bases ship in the box.

Are LED corn lights any good?
The cheap ones aren't. They earned that reputation from unbranded imports with no surge protection and a life measured in months. This one's built to a different spec. The heatsink is aluminum with no fan, so there's no moving part to seize. Surge protection is built in at 4KV. It's cULus listed for damp locations and carries a 5 year warranty.
Can you put a corn bulb in an enclosed fixture?
This one, yes. Most LED lamps fail early in sealed fixtures because trapped heat cooks the driver, which is why so many carry a "not for enclosed luminaires" warning. Votatec rates the CLW08C 18W for enclosed use, with one condition: the lamp compartment has to measure at least 12.6 x 7.48 x 7.48 in (320 x 190 x 190 mm). Measure the globe before you order. In smoke, sulfur or corrosive air, the manual asks for a glass or semi-glass shade that doesn't block heat dissipation.
How long do LED corn bulbs last?
This one's rated at 50,000 hours, roughly 11 years at 12 hours a day. The operating range backs it up: -40C to 50C. That covers an unheated parking garage in January and a sealed post top in July.
What fits, and what doesn't
Pull the ballast first. The manual is blunt: leave an old ballast in circuit and its high voltage resonance breaks the lamp down. Wire the socket straight to line. It runs 120-277V at 50/60Hz and mounts horizontal or vertical, which suits post tops, bollards, shoeboxes and low highbays. Three things it won't do. It isn't dimmable, it takes no PIR sensor, and it isn't approved for emergency or exit lighting.
