The biggest lamp in Votatec's power adjustable LED corn light range. One switch sets 120W, 100W or 80W, so a single part number covers a 360W, 300W or 240W HID swap.
Output runs 18000, 15000 or 12000 lumens at 5000K. 80+ CRI, 360 degree beam, E39 mogul base, AC120-347V.
Sealant-poured driver, aluminum heatsink, no fan. cULus-listed for damp locations, 6KV surge protection, 5-year warranty.
Can I replace metal halide bulbs with LED?
Yes, but the ballast comes out first. This lamp carries its own internal driver, so the old magnetic ballast has to leave the circuit before the lamp reaches the socket. Votatec's instruction book is blunt about what happens if it doesn't: the ballast "will produce the resonance of high voltage and makes led corn light breakdown." Wire line and neutral straight to the mogul socket. That's qualified electrician work in Canada, and the housing's input rating has to be at least 120W.
How do you set the wattage on a 120W corn lamp?
With a screwdriver, before the lamp goes up. Lift off the top plastic cover and you'll find a slide switch marked 80W, 100W and 120W. Choose the step, refit the cover, then install. The 27W to 63W lamps in this range use a rotary knob instead, so don't go hunting for one here. Set it on the bench, not on a ladder.
How long do LED corn bulbs last?
50,000 hours, with a 5-year warranty behind it. Heat is what normally eats into that figure, so the driver and the plastic housing are sealant-poured and the heat leaves through an aluminum heatsink with no fan to seize. Efficiency holds at 150 lm/W in 5000K and 145 lm/W in 4000K at every step, not only at full output. Surge protection is 6KV here, double the 4KV on the smaller lamps.
Will it fit the fixture you've already got?
Measure the compartment before you order. The manual asks for 440 x 260 x 260 mm, or 17.32 x 10.24 x 10.24 inches, for a lamp 5.12 inches across and 11.14 long. Vertical mounting only at this size. It's rated for enclosed fixtures, damp locations and -40C to 50C, and it isn't for emergency lighting. Post top, shoebox, garden and highbay housings are the intended homes.
For the ballast bypass sequence, the security rope step and the full warning list, open the Manual (PDF), and pull the IES file if your designer needs photometry. Send us the HID wattage coming out and your fixture count, and we'll come back with a wholesale quote and a compartment-fit check.
