The 27W CLW08C is the smallest corn bulb in the range with both switches on board: three colour temperatures and three wattages, set at the lamp.
Pick 12W, 18W or 27W. Then 3000K, 4000K or 5000K. Output runs 1680 lm to 4185 lm, CRI above 80, 360 degree beam, E26 and E39 both in the box.
Aluminum heatsink, no fan, 4KV surge protection, cULus damp listing, five year warranty.
Can you dim a CCT and power adjustable corn bulb?
Yes, from 27W up. The installation manual scopes both dimming options, continuous or segmented, to the CCT-adjustable 27W-120W lamps, so this SKU is where the feature starts. The 12W and 18W below it get a colour switch and nothing else. Segmented dimming is the 12W/18W/27W step selector you're buying here. Continuous dimming is a knob and a separate build, so confirm which one you're quoting.
What does each wattage step replace?
The datasheet maps all three steps to HID. 27W stands in for 80W metal halide, 18W for 50W, 12W for 40W. One shelf SKU covers three retrofit sizes, which cuts what you have to stock and what you have to guess at on a walkthrough. Add the colour switch and you're holding nine configurations in one box.
Will it fit an enclosed lantern or post top?
It's rated for enclosed fixtures, which most corn lamps aren't. The body measures 2.36 in across and 6.81 in long, the narrowest in the adjustable range, so it clears lantern compartments the 36W won't. Give the compartment 13.39 x 7.87 x 7.87 in or better. Pull the ballast out first. Leave it in and you get high voltage resonance, and the manual is blunt that it'll break the lamp down.
Smoke, sulfur and corrosive sites
The manual doesn't rule these out, it qualifies them. Run the lamp inside a sealed glass or semi-metallic shade, and don't wrap anything round it that traps heat. Damp locations are fine and cULus covers them. Two hard limits worth knowing before you spec it: this isn't for emergency lighting or exit signs, and you can't bench-test it off a portable generator.
For the wiring diagrams, the ballast removal sequence and the compartment table in English and French, open the Manual (PDF), and pull the IES file if your designer needs photometry for a layout. Send us your quantity and the base split, E26 or E39, and we'll come back with a wholesale quote plus a DLC check, because the E39 fitting is the one carrying rebate eligibility.
