LED Hardscape Light – 4.5W

This 7in LED hardscape light rotates 270°, so one fixture does two jobs. Mount it under a retaining wall cap, or turn it down as a deck and step light.

4.5W on AC or DC 12-24V. Five field-selectable colour temperatures, 2700K to 5000K, and it remembers the setting. 95° beam, CRI above 82.

How far apart should retaining wall lights be placed?

There's no single number, and the manual doesn't set one on purpose. Spacing follows cap height and how much scallop you'll accept. A 95° beam off a 7in fixture tucked under a cap throws a wide, short wash, so tight spacing reads as a continuous line, wide spacing as pools of light. Run the IES file through your photometric software and you'll see the pattern before committing to a layout.

When do hardscape lights get installed?

Before the wall is finished, not after. The manual is direct about it: work out where every fixture goes before wall construction starts. The stainless steel mounting plate slides in between courses of hardscape material, and the fixture wire routes back through the wall to your low voltage supply run. Adhesive or mortar to lock the plate is optional and isn't supplied. If wire management is tight, cut a V shaped notch in the block, which is standard masonry practice.

Retrofitting an existing capped wall means lifting cap stones. Plan it in.

One SKU instead of five

The 5CCT switch is the reason to stock this one. Set 2700K for residential stonework, 4000K for a commercial entrance, 5000K where the spec calls for it, all from the same part number. A memory function holds the setting through a power cut. Output tracks the setting: 299 lumens at 2700K up to 346 at 5000K, per the spec sheet's test table.

What you need to wire it

It runs on 12-24V, AC or DC, so it needs a low voltage transformer and direct burial cable. Two waterproof wire nuts come in the box, along with four plastic anchors, two countersunk screws and four round head screws. Rated to operate from -20°C to 40°C, worth checking against your coldest install. Power factor is above 0.9.
