The BAK-010A sends an analog 0-10V signal to your LED driver, so it dims commercial fixtures a standard dimmer can't touch. Wire it single-pole or 3-way.
Dimming runs 1 to 100%. Short-press the rocker for 20% steps, long-press for stepless. Five blue indicators show the level at a glance, and the relay drops out fully at 0%.
ETL listed to UL1472. Neutral required, indoor rated, 2-year warranty.
What is a 0-10V dimmer switch?
It's a controller, not a load dimmer. The BAK-010A passes line voltage to the fixture and sends a separate low-voltage DC signal to the driver on its purple (DIM+) and pink (DIM-) pair. The driver does the actual dimming. That's why 0-10V reaches smooth low levels a phase-cut dimmer can't hold, and why it only works with drivers marked 0-10V dimmable.
Can I use a regular dimmer on 0-10V?
No. A triac or ELV dimmer chops the AC waveform, and a 0-10V driver ignores that entirely. You'll get flicker, buzz, or no dimming at all. The signal pair isn't optional. Votatec's 0-10V dimmable UFO high bays, vapour tight fixtures, back-lit panels and linear strips all accept this dimmer directly.
How many fixtures can it run?
Size by total driver load, not by fixture count. The manual rates the BAK-010A at 150W of LED or CFL load, and 500W of incandescent or halogen. Standby draw is under 1W. Add up the input wattage of every driver on the circuit and stay under the LED figure, because the driver load is what the relay switches.
Wiring, box fit and one thing to watch
Neutral required, copper conductors only. Black to hot, white to neutral, green to ground, purple to DIM+, pink to DIM-. The red wire feeds the driver's hot input. For 3-way, blue runs to the travelling switch. It fits a standard single-gang box at 4.13 x 1.69 x 1.77 in, and it's indoor only, rated 0 to 40 C.
Watch this one: at 0% the dimmer opens its relay and the red wire goes dead. If your driver still glows at zero, feed that driver's hot input from the red wire rather than straight off the panel. The manual calls this out because some drivers on the market won't switch off on signal alone.
