Can you wire this as a single-pole dimmer?
Yes. The manual gives separate diagrams for both, five connection layouts in all. The terminal list for a single-pole run is line, neutral, ground and load. A 3-way run adds Traveler 1 and Traveler 2, with the black lead landing on the common terminal. Same catalogue number either way, so a job with both switch types doesn't need two SKUs on the order.
What's the smallest LED load it will dim?
3W. The load range runs 3W to 200W for dimmable LED and CFL, and 15W to 600W for incandescent. That 3W floor is the number that matters on retrofit work. A single 9W pot light or a two-lamp vanity holds a stable dim, where a dimmer with a 25W minimum drops out or flickers at the bottom of the travel.
Set the minimum and maximum before you leave site
The dimmer stores six minimum and six maximum brightness stops across 16 levels. With the light on, press the power button six times to lock the minimum and eight times to lock the maximum. Nine presses clears both. Setting the minimum is what stops slow-striking lamps sitting dark at the bottom of the range, and the manual asks for it at install rather than treating it as a preference.
What you can't put on it
Lamps only. The manual rules out receptacles, motor-operated appliances and transformer-supplied appliances, and limits the load to dimmable LED, dimmable CFL, incandescent and halogen. Don't mix types on one dimmer either. All LED, all CFL, or all incandescent, ideally the same model, because mixed loads are the usual cause of flicker on a correctly wired dimmer. Indoor and damp rated, 0°C to 40°C.
