Votatec's Spiral LED is a decorative bulb, not a fixture. It screws into any medium E26 socket. The sculpted double-helix form gives you a feature bulb meant to be seen, and the frosted lens keeps the glow soft.
12W delivers 1000 lumens at 83 lm/W. One switch on the base picks 3000K, 4000K or 5000K. Dims from 10% to 100%.
Matte black finish, ETL listed by Intertek, rated 25,000 hours, backed by a 3 year limited warranty.
Is a spiral LED bulb the same as a spiral CFL?
No. The twisted bulb most people remember is a compact fluorescent, a folded glass tube holding mercury vapour that needs a moment to reach full brightness. This one's an LED. No mercury, instant on, and it dims. The spiral here is styling, not a way to fold a fluorescent tube into a smaller space. If you're replacing spiral CFLs that are getting hard to source, this is the LED that keeps the look.
What do the three colour settings do?
A small slide switch sits on the black collar, just below the E26 cap. Set it before you install. 3000K reads warm and suits lobbies, restaurants and guest rooms. 4000K is neutral, and works in retail or an office. 5000K is crisp daylight. One SKU covers all three, so you stock one bulb instead of three and let the site decide on install day.
Will it work on our existing dimmers?
It dims from 10% to 100% on most leading and trailing edge TRIAC dimmers, per the Votatec spec sheet. That covers the wall dimmers already sitting in most heritage and hospitality rooms. Check the dimmer's minimum load, though. A single 12W bulb on a dimmer sized for incandescent lamps can flicker at the bottom of its range, so gang two or three on a run where the layout allows it.
Where it fits
Measure before you order. It stands 12.52 inches tall and spreads 6.65 inches at the widest point of the spiral, so it's built to be seen rather than hidden inside a shade. Open pendants, wall sconces and exposed medium-base sockets suit it. Indoors only. There's no IP rating or wet-location listing on the spec sheet, so it isn't a candidate for covered exterior runs. Ambient range runs -40°F to 122°F.
